Before I get into what we did on the PTR Monday night, I just want to say that I got my whole outfit for Pilgrim’s Bounty. Actually, it really isn’t hard. You just have to do 3 dailies and you get the Hat, Boots and one of the chest pieces.. Just remember you don’t need all of them AND they can’t be mailed… So..
Monday I logged into the PTR and was joined by Lissanna of Restokin and Daewin of The Hunting Lodge Podcast. Liss was a Rest druid (at least on the PTR she was) and Dae, of course, was a hunter. I was logged in with Fimlys, so I was a hunter also. We waited around for some more peeps to show up, but were out of luck. We decided to try to put ourselves on the new LFG for the new instance (Forge of Souls I think) but got no hits (we joined as a group). We then decided to try out the Random Dungeon interface and put ourselves up there. After a few minutes we were joined by a Bear Druid and a Shaman ( elemental I think ). We were ported directly to Utgard Keep and proceeded to wipe the place clean. During the run, we tried out the DE selection on the Need/Greed/etc. roll thing and it worked flawlessly.
So, we cleared the place and stepped out of the instance.. And we were back where we all started. I think that is going to be very awesome and beneficial for those “I just want to go run SOMETHING” nights. So anyway, I am a big fan of the interface for that and the ability it gives you. We got our 2 Emblems of Frost but I don’t think any of us got any additional rewards from doing the Random instance.
Continuing raiding, etc. on Draenor. We’ve been having issues, at least last night we did, with Faction Champs on ToGC 10. We got a really bad combination and just can’t get it down. I’m sure we’ll try again this week. I think tonight is Heroic 25 man.. We’ll see how far we get in that too..
Laters!
Actually, this new holiday is pretty easy.. At least so far. I spent yesterday afternoon on my Druid leveling up her cooking via the new WoW Holiday, Pilgrim’s Bounty. I’m not going to go into the holiday here, since there is plenty of news all over the internet about it, but lets just say that in general, it’s not too bad ..
I got Fyra’s cooking to 300 easily and did a few of the other quests to make back the money it cost to buy the materials, etc.
Later that night, I got to drag Fhuun, my priest, through ToC 25 and Ony. He got a new ring and bracers. The bracers are DPS, but I’m not complaining. Actually, I think the ring is too, but it was a big upgrade. I need to check out if I have enough emblems now for another piece of gear.
Tonight I think we’re going to try playing around on the PTR, if it is up and working. They were doing some maintenance.. If you happen to get on, look for us in the “Twisted Nether” guild on Broxigar, alliance side. Laters!
Haven’t had much WoW news to offer lately. We’ve been doing our normal 10-man runs and get through those without problem. For 10-man ToGC we’ve gotten TO Anub, but not killed him yet. Last night, though, I got to be there for the 25-man ToGC attempt.. Just have to say it is very frustrating. While the feeling of exhilaration is great when you finally do get a boss down, the weariness that descends when you have to “try again” over and over and over and over just isn’t fun. I understand people wanting things to be difficult, I just think that having the same bosses, just harder without much in the way of new mechanics doesn’t appeal to me. (I’m not sure I got all those commas in the right places, but pretend I did) I prefer the feeling of tying to do my personal best in an encounter that is less of a drag than wipe again and again. Just my 2 cents.
Anyway. So, yeah, we went into 25-man ToGC and proceeded to wipe repeatedly. Finally, luck went our way with the Northrend Beasts and Icehowl stomped before he enraged and smashed into the wall and we downed him in the last seconds before he wiped the floor with us. We were very excited. The upgraded Druid boots dropped, but I was out-rolled. Ah well, they really aren’t a HUGE upgrade from the non-heroic versions anyway. I also didn’t win the trophy.. We spent a large amount of time of Jaraxxus, but to no avail. He wiped pretty quickly on each attempt at least..
So, that was my night last night. Oh! I picked up Gyromancer on Steam. Been enjoying it quite a bit. It’s a cross between Bejewed Twist and Puzzle Quest. Fun so far!
