A Little Past 3

Wow.. I missed it.. March 8, 2010 was my 3 year Blogiversary! My first post? It’s actually somewhat anticlimactic. But, if you are feeling nostalgic, you can start back there and move forward.. :)  The first idea of the blog? Maybe a little RP?  Oh my.. You can see why I didn’t continue very long with that… When did I start my “famous” screenshot inclusions? Of course, the size they were then breaks my current theme.. Ooops..

Throughout my “blogging life”, I’ve kept you appraised (somewhat) of how my character(s) were progressing.. Since I started when I was most of the way to 70.. First milestone was just that! Getting a flying mount was just awesome. (I didn’t get a epic mount for Fimlys until I was questing in Storm Peaks in WOTLK.. That’s just crazy) ..

I think going through much more would just be .. Crazy.. I started playing WoW on Nov 30, 2004… 5 years+ later I am as into the game as ever (if not more) most of the time. A large portion of my blogging during BC was about Kara.. Amazing .. (Ok, not really).. Are you wondering when I started using the cool “Polaroid” image look? It wasn’t even a WoW Screenshot!

I’ve had a few more “popular” posts too.. One of the first was a Hunter Macro Guide (very very old and not updated, but I still use the Hunter’s Mark/Focus macro there..).. And I also did a bunch of Trial of the CrusaderMini-Guides”.

Above all though, I just want to say thank you. Thanks for sticking with me, whether it has been for all 3 years (I can’t believe that there is anyone that has done that…) or if you just happened to find the blog today and this is the first post you are reading! I’ve never been very structured, but I’ve tried to be entertaining (if nothing else, just the post titles.. where I can). I’m still not going anywhere but, as you can tell, my posting has slowed down. I expect that to pick up as new stuff comes out, as it usually does. You are always welcome to email me (head to the contact page for more info) to ask a question or just to say hi. Or you can always hit me up on Twisted Nether or Polygamerous.

So far, so good. Here is to another 3 years!

The Lich King is…

still not dead… At least not to our raid group. Our 10 man run has, at least, made it that far. We’ve spent a week and a half (yes, we extended the lockout) banging our heads against the big LK. We’ve gotten pretty good at the first phase and we seem to have the transition phase down. The biggest issue right now is both surviving phase 2 and actually doing damage to the boss so we can progress to the next transition and phase 3. I think we have saved someone from the Val’kyr .. um… once.. We’ve also wiped plenty of times by someone getting caught in the “big black pool”. If you’re “soaking in it” then you will be dead soon and probably end up wiping the rest of the raid too.

Besides that, I’ve been running around on my rogue and warlock some more. Working on leveling them up in Northrend. I’ve gotten into a few random dungeons on them and getting more comfortable with my ability to play them (kinda). Freez (the rogue) is up to 73 and Fellmara (the warlock) is up to 71. With rested XP and the 2 Heirloom armor pieces, instances seem to be the fastest place for leveling up. I still should be doing dailies on my mage and paladin and even the priest, but.. eh.. i dunno.

I think we are planning on letting ICC reset today so we can pick up more emblems and also get some more possibilities of decent loot dropping (we’re disenchanting more than we are giving out now 🙁 ). We’ll power through it and hopefully get a few more cracks at the LK.

Also, check out the latest TNB. We had another of our round tables! This was episode 80.. Wow.. Can’t’ believe we dinged 80.. Invite us to raid! (props to anyone who gets the reference I was trying to imply with the title.. )

Up In the Air, Junior Birdman

Again, I was farming. Well, actually, the last 2 nights we ran iCC-25. I brought the Druid and finally hit Exalted and got my “super-ring”. Other than that, nothing interesting dropped. We had pretty good luck with everything we tried other than the Lag Boss on the ship. First try on the ship we failed with what amounted to about 1% or less. This was all based on the lag getting onto and off of the ship, etc. For the second try, we did something a little different. Less people went over to the ship and the gunners just stayed where they were. Thus, when the canons came unblocked, they were able to continue immediately without having to wait to jump back over and get back in the guns. This strategy worked like a charm. Not only did we win despite the lag, we bested in them in record time!

Rotface and Festergut went down nice and easy too. You’d think we actually, finally knew what we were doing (oh, and the 5% buff probably helped). We moved on to the Blood Princes after dropping by the 1-badge mini-boss (skipping Putricide for now, we weren’t ready). We tried and failed a few times. We had a hunter trying to hold the Shadow DMG dealing Vamp but he was getting hit for 79k or whatever.. Think that one-shot him? Then our illustrious leader swapped over to his DK and did the tanking of that boss. We once again easily got past it. After that the raid was called, but all-in-all it was a successful run.

So, what’s with the title? I’m getting there.. Patience…

After the raid, I figured I would get back on Fellmara and finish up getting her to 375/375 so she was well prepared for Northrend. The Herbalism score was getting there, but I needed a lot of help with the Mining. I flew around and around and around Hellfire Peninsula and got most of my points there.. When Fel Iron got to the point when I wasn’t getting skillup from the more often than I was, I moved her over to Blades Edge and then Netherstorm to pick up Adamantite. Took quite a bit of time, but I finally did it.

As an aside again, selling all the ore and herbs picked up from this adventure netted me a very tidy sum. I’m generally pleased with the outcome of this experiment.

Ok. What’s this title all about? Well, I remembered, just before I was planning on logging out, that I could pick up the cold weather flying manual and send it to Fellmara. Ooops.. I could have done the first few quests I had, etc, much easier if I could fly (slowly, but it’s still flying). So I went and picked up the book and sent it away. She is now the happy owner of the ability to fly in Northrend which should make this whole leveling process much, much, much easier.

Tonight is the 10man ICC run. More rep for Fimlys and hopefully something good dropping. I might have to see if I can swap them out at some point and pull the druid into 10 and hunter into 25. Later all!
