Hey! How’s it going? I can’t say that I haven’t been posting because I can’t find anything to talk about. I can ALWAYS find SOMETHING to talk about.. Just ask Hydra.. It’s really more of a “finding time” thing. With the two podcasts and work and family (Little League Season is started again) and actually playing WoW among other games, I just don’t have all that much time to regale you all with my witticisms. I spend a lot of time talking about WoW and other games on the podcasts too, so I guess I don’t have a lot of extra stuff to fill in here.
With that said, I’m still having a good time with WoW. My playtime has dropped mainly because of other games I’d like to make time to play. I have been only really logging in on raiding nights and other times to farm for mats for Flasks. It’s not that I’m not having fun when I am playing, because I am. It’s not that I don’t want to play, because I do. I’m still enjoying Cataclysm. I still have a lot to do like level a few more toons up to 85, play my Worgen (who just got out of the starting area..) and get started on my Goblin with Daewin (if we’re still planning on doing that).
Right now I’m deep in the throws of Dragon Age 2 addiction. I’m playing a mage on this first run-through and trying to do all the side quests I can find. Being able to heal is a lot less necessary this time around than in Dragon Age: Origins and the combat is much more “actiony” (I know that isn’t a word). You can still pause the combat and I do so during the boss fights. The other thing to realize is that for this first play I decided to do it on easy-peasy mode. When I go back and play again, if I do, I’ll go to normal mode and I’m sure I will be pausing the combat to do more manual assigning of targets and such. I’m really enjoying the game and personally think they did a great job with it. I’ll have to see how the reply value is as opposed to DA: O.
Oh, and before I go, I just want to say that I am very happy. I finally got my Staff from Halfus! Woot!
In Cataclysm right now there are 12 raid bosses (including the “PvP” raid boss). My raiding group is now down to just the final boss in each of the 3 main instances. Last night we finally got down Atramedes last night (on our last attempt, of course). I haven’t written for a while so, you might have missed us downing the other bosses too.
We got really close on the try just before we downed him but for jumping the gun on the gong.. (Gun on the Gong?!?) For the Searing Flames, you need to interrupt it using one of the “Dwarven Shields” (I think). Well, I guess we were trying to time it via DBM and it was hit JUST before he was going to cast it. Thus he was dazed but picked back up where he left off and Searing Flamed us. We were down to about 4% or so at that point and the 3 people who were left gave a good fight, but couldn’t do it. Again they might have been able to pull it off (and it looked like they would) except that the same thing happened again and he was dazed just milliseconds too early. After that disheartening attempt, we came back “strong” and got the job done!
What’s next for us? We’ll come back next Tuesday on the reset and, in BoT, burn through to Cho’gall and see if we can’t get some tokens.
So, how is everyone else doing on their raid Progression? Are you raiding at all yet? We’re raiding what many would consider “a lot”. We do 3 nights a week for 2.5 hours a night (give or take). It gives us a good chance to progress on all the instances at once. We’ve been very lucky, also, to get a really good, dedicated team. We don’t do any special loot rules or method. The method is.. Roll if you want it. What do you use for loot distribution? Of course, we are only doing 10 man (although we did 25 man Baradin Hold the other night!) so that might make a difference. 25man can be a little more headachy since there is more overlap in people wanting items. I’m the only Hunter in our run (we actually have 2 teams now which is amazing!) so I get all the Hunter loot.. Of course, it’s all Hunter loot, right? Right?
Ok, I’m outta here. Let me know how you are doing in your raiding and what loot rules you use. Oh, and I also wanted to point you in the direction of the TNB Blizzcon 2011 page! We’re ALREADY getting started with the planning of the most awesome meetup/party we’ve ever had!
Yeah, I’m still here. I’m sorry about not having updates for your for a while. It’s not even that I don’t have anything to talk about. I think it might be that I have TOO much to talk about and, well, a lot of my talking happens on my podcasts ( Twisted Nether and Polygamerous ).
Things I don’t talk about there, like our progression raiding and my progression with my toons tends to end up here. I’ve been pretty busy with everything else lately though (including raiding!).
I have things to talk about and I’m sure I will get to them soon, I hope. This was just a small update to say “I don’t want to go on the cart”.. “I’m not dead yet!”…
