I’m not sure I really want to do another Kara post. I have so many. Blah blah. We killed these bosses (yay). We got this lootz (yay). We wiped this many times (yay)… But nothing else much happened last night. Lets see.
I logged in a bit early (although I think that is going to be stopping, I think I’m gonna be heading it just around 9pm ET now) and decided to work on Fimlys’ fishing skill. So I got him from 250 to 260 and then had to switch to Fyra for Kara.
Oh! And Magister’s Terrace was the daily heroic… There is still actual gear I want on both Fyra and Fhuun in there.. But, Kara was what was happenin’. So, I went and got the quest even though we might not go there last night. Here is a hint, if you want to be able to do a particular instance as the daily heroic but can’t do it the day it is the daily, go get it when it is and then you can run it and turn it in any day before you drop the quest. Obviously you can’t pick up any others until you drop/complete it and you also can’t do another one the day you turn it in.
Fyra ended up getting a ton of Healing gear in Kara, and also some cloth DPS bracers. We got all the way through the Shade so tonight will be nice and easy to start out with. Maybe we can do the heroic afterwards Actually, Fhuun is so close to 150 badges, I really want to get him though a few. I also need to get Sporeggar rep up on Fyra so she can pick up the transmute there. It doesn’t seem like an easy grind. Ick.. Ok.. back to other stuff i go..
Well, Gruul’s was somewhat of a bust. We were pretty short (at least 5 peeps, I think) of people last night and though we went in to give it a try, we lost tanks way too quick too many times to keep going. We were a little short on healers (at least one more would have been good) and VERY short on DPS. Ah well, if we can get more either healers or dps we would be fine, since all the healers also have dps alts/mains/etc..
The raid leader called it after a few “wipes” (well, “RUN OUT!”s) and we got a group together to go do Heroic Shadow Labyrinth. Fyra needed to kill Murmur for her Na’aru quests. We did extremely well through pretty much the entire instance up until Murmur himself. With the heroic mechanics, you have to all stay inside the ring until the big blast.
We had our tank (Traebear: Pally Tank Supreme) even stay in during those so he didn’t have issues getting back in. We wiped a few times while we figured out this strategy though. Finally, although both mages and my moonkin went down, Wickum (Resto Druid) battle rezzed one of them and they finally got him down. I picked up all my quest items (it was the heroic daily also) and we headed out.
I turned in the quests and then had to call it a night as I needed to get up early the next morning. Tonight it is back to Kara night. I’m hoping Fyra can pick up some stuff this time. A new offhand and cloak would be nice. I also am thinking of starting her building up her Alchemy Stone stuff. I just have that first one. The second level one is pretty crazy mats.
Well, that’s it! Talk 2 ewes tomorrow.

So.. Someone I know asked me for some more macro magic.. Here we go..
|
The following is the macro I use for my Shackles:
/clearfocus [button:2] /stopmacro [button:2] /focus [target=focus,noexists]; [target=focus, dead] /cast [target=focus,exists,nodead] Shackle Undead
I believe you can change the Shackle to casting any direct cast CC you’d like (like sleep or sheep). The idea is that:
- If you select a mob and you don’t have a focus, it will focus on that mob and then cast Shackle Undead.
- If you have a focus and it isn’t dead, it will cast Shackle Undead on the focus.
- If the focus is dead, it will change the focus to your currently targeted mob and cast Shackle Undead.
- If you right click on the button, it will clear your focus.
The following is one that I use on my hunter and have posted about before, but wil repost here since we are talking about Focus macros…
#showtooltip Hunter’s Mark /cast [harm] Hunter’s Mark; /focus [help]
This will cast Hunter’s Mark on a MOB or Set my Focus to a friendly target. Mainly this is to save a slot and also enable one keypress to do different things depending on who I have targeted. I set the focus on my hunter for my misdirection macro:
/cast [target=focus,exists] Misdirection; Misdirection
This will cast misdirection on the focus if it exists, otherwise on the target. Then I can keep my target on the mob I’m trying to pull and cast misdirect onto the tank or annoying dude I want to set an entire instance on before I feign death… (but I have never done that… really… really.. Well, not on purpose)
Lastly, I have a quick focus setting/clearing macro you can use if you don’t want to combine it with any of the other functions I have here..
/clearfocus [button:1] /focus [button:2]
You can switch the buttons as you’d like, but right cilck SETS the focus and left click CLEARS the focus.
If you have any other questions about these or other macro stuff, you can email me or leave a comment here.. Happy macroing…
